Barefoot Landing is the iconic shopping, dining and entertainment center that pioneered the outdoor festival-shopping concept along the Grand Strand. This experiential retail complex is home to more than 80 specialty stores, retail shops and restaurants surrounding a 27-acre lake.

The LHWH PR engagement began after Barefoot Landing was acquired in 2013 by Burroughs & Chapin, a longtime LHWH client. Media coverage opportunities really picked up steam in 2017 when Burroughs & Chapin announced plans for a major transformation of Barefoot Landing. Dockside Village – a new walkable restaurant district along the Intracoastal Waterway – was announced in conjunction with its first major attraction: Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s, a 17,000 square-foot destination with its own beach and a 450-seat restaurant.

In 2017, LHWH was able to use its media relationships and tourism-based savvy to generate news about Barefoot Landing more than 280 times in 123 different media outlets with a reach of more than 17 million people resulting in a 7.7 to 1 ROI.
