The Shape Of Things To Come: Internet Trends 2015

People listen when Mary Meeker reveals the findings of her research on Internet trends. The venture capitalist at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers issued her first report 20 years ago. Every year, her annual review of data and predictions have been so spot on that top media and technology gurus line up to hear what she has to say.  That was the case at this week’s Code Conference in California.

Numerous media from the Washington Post to Forbes have published summaries of her report on the growth of the Internet. But as the old saying goes, the devil is in the details and media reports leave out many. Still, there are some useful summations for advertising and public relations professionals, such as that presented by AdAge entitled “The Nine Slides That Matter.”

Meeker’s report includes data on the many ways that mobile use is growing — and it’s growing faster than any of us imagined (or have a handle on). That, however, means opportunity for those who get on board for the ride.

As expected, this year’s presentation is chock full of new information and insightful observations. We recommend that you take the time to review her full report, laid out in nearly 200 slides jam-packed with statistics you can use in your own presentations, information that will validate some of your hunches, and just plain eye-popping information about the shape of things to come.
